3 Cs of Vocal Executive Presence – Command the Room, Connect with the Audience, and Close the Deal!

If you want to establish your vocal executive presence, you have to master the three C’s: and be able to command the room, connect with the audience, and close the deal. But what does that look and sound like?

First, Command the room. This is the ability to capture and keep peoples’ attention without having to DE-mand it. You want to captivate and engross the audience in what you are sharing with them. When you command the room, people focus on you because of the way you hold your self, the way you deliver your message,  the quality of your content, the intrigue of your topic, and the way you make it meaningful for them.

Second, Connect with the audience. You need the audience to connect with two things: with the content of your talk, and with you yourself. Frame your content in a way that is directly relevant to your listeners. Don’t get stuck in the “expert’s curse.”  It’s not enough to share information that is important to you; the audience needs to know that YOU understand what details are most important to THEM, and why.

Third, Close the deal.  Closing the deal doesn’t necessarily have to include a signature on a check, it’s about getting to a yes. This could mean coming to an agreement on a new timeline, a particular detail of a project, or simply an agreement to take a break and resume discussions later.  When you know the outcome you want to achieve, each yes means another step toward it. That’s closing the deal.

You don’t have to be a CEO to master the art of the three Cs of vocal executive presence. They are the tools you need if you want to have more influence at any level. For more information about how to master the art of speaking to influence, go to vocalimpactproductions.com.
